The Actors Studio has found a new home!

 

Just seven months after it closed down its popular theatre in Bangsar Shopping Centre, The Actors Studio will be moving into its spanking new theatre on the rooftop of Lot 10 Shopping Centre.

 

This all-new theatre is nestled amid overhanging foliage and other greenery that is part of the rooftop’s Forest in the City concept (yet another genius idea by Seksan). The chic and minimalist interior gives it a warm and inviting atmosphere.

 

Without a doubt, the star of the theatre is its dramatic Hanamichi-thrust stage – the first of its kind in the country. Those familiar with Kabuki will recognise its T-shape formation although the thrust section is much wider than the traditional Hanamichi. That coupled with its three-sided, bench style seating makes it an intimate yet exciting space that will open up new staging possibilities.

 

What’s even more exciting than the theatre’s unique design is its location right in the heart of town. It is merely a stone’s throw from the monorail station and countless F&B outlets!

 

The Actors Studio @ Lot 10 was officially opened on the 10^th of October 2009. In conjunction with its opening, a whole week of free-for-public performances took place from 11th to the 18th of October.
